Details

Working with Nancy Goslee Power, we reimagined this residence as a sophisticated venue for entertaining. The motor court, designed as a compass referencing our client's career as a naval architect, sets the tone—guests may valet at the gate and walk an allée of Italian cypress gathering for cocktails before dinner on the back loggia overlooking a Bel Air canyon. Hundred-year-old olive trees frame views into the canyon through 19th-century Italian church gates. Quieter spaces—a hidden Japanese meditation garden, a stone circle inspired by English lambing pens—offer contemplative counterpoints throughout.
